Thanks Ken. I am trying to build a special thread with a technical report for the 2009 event over in the general weather area.

https://www.weatherforum.../t67-The-2009-Dust-Storm

The report from BoM for the Southeast of Australia is a pretty big PDF file and I need some time to gather some of the main points. Be great if anyone would like to add pictures and reports etc.

Yes the μg/m3 readings were unbelievably. Recently Birdsville was having some pretty bad dust storms and the readings were around 1350μg/m3 but I believe Randwick in Sydney recorded over 17000μg/m3. It was a record. I think Brisbane we were up around 9000+ μg/m3 but I need to go through and double check those figures . It was staggering though.
Cheers
Colin.
