Had a fairly decent storm over Lawnton this afternoon. We had a good -25°c cold pool sitting over Southern Queensland which was conducive to produce the storms and hail that was seen in many suburbs and shires. The sounding this morning showed the cold air above Brisbane and the fact there was no cap, it was no surprise that storms were able to fire off in such cool weather.

Below is the current radar and also the energex lightning tracker. There has been reports of good hail drifts. The hail was small enough to look like snow in some places.

And below the storm warning for the area around Gympie.
