Just having another quick look at the charts with this latest round of dynamic weather we have been having and it looks like we could see another round of extremely cold air moving into Southern Queensland from late Sunday through to at least Thursday. Some of the models are hinting at another possible snow event but it could change rapidly. There is a very nice thick MSL 540 (5400) line right up to the border and into Queensland.

The 540 line is a good indicator in Australia that the moisture in the air could fall as snow. Not a guarantee but a fairly good indicator and one that you can get a little excited over.

Also running the model a little further, which becomes a little more inaccurate, there is a mild chance of another low once again around the 25 August. So winter may stick around for a little while longer.

Below is the MSL thickness line for Sunday and Tuesday

And EC on Windy and the last is BoMs meteye.

In is not a certainty but worth keeping an eye. It could produce snow or even some rain and possible storms. As we get closer and the models are a bit more accurate the more we will know.
