Very dry past week here with a few storms around but like Bunyip says they are pretty random and we missed out ..So only about half the average rainfall for this month so far with not much forecast for the week ahead...

Bloody forecasts I keep seeing on Weatherzone always have heavy rainy forecast for a week/10 days out but when that period arrives then its back to 1-5 or 5-10 again..yet the forecasters are predicting a low on the coast in early march....probably get it right one day if you keep predicting heavy rain in the wet season...

Bunyip I'd like to get a Brno Model 2 in .22 for the .22 shoots at the club...a fella I see at the range picked one up at a local dealer for $300 odd dollars i think because it has some scuff marks on the bolt knob...he chucked on a cheap scope he had lying around and has spent a few weekends seeing what ammo it likes and now shoots around half inch groups at 50 metres..like you say nostalgic for me also having shot one quite a bit as a kid and because they really are fine shooting rifles..we used to use my uncles sako .222 for shooting foxes for skins many moons ago..thats a very nice rifle too..

and yeah the cockies and fruit bats demolish most of my fruit ..I have started cutting back some fruit trees in the hope of keeping them small enough to either net or at least be able to reach the fruit..probably not the best time of the year for itbut I wanted to get at it while there is some growing season left....maybe I need to chuck some buckets over the cut ends so the water doesnt get in and rot out the trees..

and SM yeah i was looking forward to comparing the rainfall in El Arish to ours in the hills a few Km's south...The old lady at the PO used to keep a rain gauge and paper chart but she has been dead for years now....I asked a question about when we will be able to see a link to the new community funded weather station and was bombarded about sponsership, merchandise and advertising on the page...geez i justed wanted to be able to see the rainfall figues...I get a bit sick of money grubbing "influencers" monetising everything they can...

I understand its run by the school P@C for "classroom resources" and the "live weather interface"but geez I hope they are not expecting people to pay a subscription just to view it....They also want to use it as a educational tool for the small primary school there...Personally i think the little kiddies would think it was more fun to go out and read a rain gauge each day but maybe I'm just old fashioned lol...
