They expect it will burn for the next several weeks. Very steep & rugged terrain with limited vehicle access. The fire is rated at "Being Controlled" & I think they are letting it burn to reduce the fuel before summer kicks in. Mainly farmland around the park so no houses at risk. They managed to save the facilities at the top were the fire started.

Would have been out of control yesterday I would suspect with winds up to 100 kph recorded in some areas.

A pic by Joshua J Smith taken from the western side(I`m on the eastern side) of the range several days ago. The summit is 1200 meters above the plains were the photo was taken from & gives a scale of how big the fire is.
