Latest information of the storm from BoM’s warning.

Weather Situation:

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:35 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area northwest of Noosa Heads, the area north of Noosa Heads, the area southeast of Gympie, the area east of Gympie, the area northeast of Gympie and Pomona. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast and are forecast to affect Goomboorian, Toolara Forest, Double Is Point, Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach and Wide Bay by 3:05 pm and Inskip and Inskip Point by 3:35 pm, these thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large, possibly giant hailstones.

Other severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Canungra, Mount Tamborine, Clifton, Russell Island and Macleay Island. They are forecast to affect Cleveland, Tamborine, Jimboomba, Victoria Point, Dunwich and Peel Island by 3:05 pm and the area south of Toowoomba, Cambooya, Ormiston, Point Lookout, southern waters of Moreton Bay and Amity Point by 3:35 pm, these thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding for cells close to the Gold Coast. The cell south of Toowoomba is likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones.

Hail of approximately 4-6cm was observed at Kandanga
