The Antartic has a massive ozone hole 2020/21. The opposite of last year.
The reason is exceptionally cold stratosphere.
A really good explanation of the chemical process and physics can be read at severe weather. eu web site.

I am on my mobile and they don’t let me copy the link
There twitter page does but guess what l got suspended from twitter for posting a statement that people should do the research on side effects of vaccine. So l no longer have a twitter account cos l object to social engineering of our freedom of speech

Anyway back to polar vortex and ozone hole.
I suspect a strong positive SAM goes together with strong polar vortex and cold upper stratosphere ( large ozone hole).
A further link downstream is the mid latitude high pressure belt system which contracts south toward the pole with a positive SAM

EDIT
Oh good . Just learnt how to copy URL on my phone
Here is another fabulous report from severe weather eu on the likely split of the polar vortex in the northern hemisphere expected this month jan 2012
