We followed a storm from Chillagoe all the way to Dunbar station in April years ago. The road was a bit tricky, especially through the black soil. I think if we had of stopped, we would've been stopped for a day or so lol. Around 6pm we met a fuel truck near the Kowanyama turn off, they had run out of fuel in town. It had taken him all day to get from Kowanyama to there. It was completely covered in mud. A few days later on our return, the trucks wheel ruts in the black soil were huge but the soil was rock hard by then. I think they have put good gravel over the whole lot now.
