We left for Mossman early this morning amidst heavy fog and drizzle and yet... seems everyone knew it was going to be a ripper out fishing, heaps of trailers on the road and parking at launch sites. So glad to see they got decent weather on our return trip this afternoon.

Yep, hella high winds lately.

Last night with winds gone and quiet Bach on the boombox beside me on the verandah, I heard the start of fireworks and tried to remember the date as to whether some celebration was due then massive cracks and bangs and I actually ducked thinking it was going to land on the house. But no, it was one of the taller volunteer trees further up the property and completely safe, not even across the drive. Spooky.
