A low is expected to form on Saturday in the northern Coral Sea off the far north Queensland coast and initially move to the southeast away from the coast. The low is likely to develop on Sunday and turn to the west and approach Cape York Peninsula. The prospects to form into a tropical cyclone increase on Monday as the system near the coast, at this stage to the north of Cooktown before subsequently moving to the west southwest over land.
