Ballina is cut off in both north and south of M1
South Ballina underwater with roof drop rescues being televised on TV now
Trucks stranded on M1 for much longer than 24 hrs
High tide this morning closed most roads in the CBD
Currently flooding is easing toward low tide
We may have another inundation at high tide this arvo’.
The Tweed river is dropping so hoping to get back to the border tomorrow.
Road is currently still closed at Chinderah which is near the mouth of the Tweed.
We are staying at Ballina at great expense but are dry and safe at higher ground
Road closed south bound of Ballina near Wardell and road closed north of Ballina at the border. So trucks and supplies not getting through.
Media says trucks are backed up kms waiting to get through
