Hey Greg and welcome to the WeatherForum!.
I guess it depends on what gadgets you are after, for example UV Index and other funky things, or are after.
If you are looking for a good weather station, with internet connectivity, I know someone who has just purchased one of these and they are very happy with it.

Davis weather stations are great and relable, however they have a price tag on them and I think they are getting slightly old technology now and there are other models on the market, like above that have great features.
thanks 1 user thanked Pabloako for this useful post.

Hey WaywardMiner,
I see you are in Coober Pedy. What a great part of the country that is. Sadly I have only ever stopped off there on road trips, for one night at a time, but it truely is an interesting place. You must have had some amazing temperatures there last week!

Anyway...... Weather stations...
I had one of the Aussie Geographic WMR200 stations (Oregon Scientific) for quite a few years. Great station and a reasonable price, but I gave up with the UV meters though, because they only last 12 months before they died. The station survived for 5 years and then I replaced it with one of these..

It was half the price of the WMR200 and has a much nicer screen and instruments. So far, 12 months later it is working great.
