Hi Ambient and CSN. Great comparison shots. Amazing transformation. It does that here every year. Sometimes the green is so vivid it almost hurts your eyes. When WZ closed I followed a couple forums, but they were fairly quiet & didn't work very well on my phone. I was away for a month, with little time before & after, but time now. So I'm hoping if just a few of us can get comfortable here, more people might join us, and we might be able to build it up over time. Frustrating this evening watching the radar, and seeing back skies & a wall of water to the east, and not getting any of it. Guess the Featherbed Range is a great inhibitor. Looking forward to next week. Edited by user Sunday, 8 March 2020 9:20:02 PM(UTC)

So good to see the green grass and the stunning waterfall image Ambient. After seeing your dust videos and how dry it was, that is an amazing turn around. Fingers crossed for some nice steady and soaking rain to start off autumn.

Looking forward to next week. Hi 28Degrees! I agree with the forums. I find it strange trying to chat about tropical weather systems on a winter sports forum and I got my head bitten off on there when I made one suggestion and everyone else then piled in! We did get a small following on here, but then the weather turned very boring and people drifted off. Hopefully some weather events will help a bit. Enjoy the rain up there later on this week!

13.6 mm so far for the month. Temps have certainly cooled off - down to 5.2 degrees this morning, will have to pull a pair of socks on soon.

First good frost for the year yesterday with -1.7 & another this morning with -1.9. Daytime temps have not been to bad, around 17 to 20 degrees. Have had half of the average rainfall for the month with 21.4 mm so far. Looks like the above average rainfall might continue over winter as the IOD continues to strengthen. Could be in for a cold winter this year.

Frost. Wow. Forgotten what that's like.
Could never imagine my saying it, but I'm hoping for a cold winter too, up here. Just for the change. But today it's just another gorgeous day in paradise again... 🙄

Whilst I am not a lover of weather in the single digits, I do like it when there is a touch of frost on the ground. (Not that it happens where I am)

Rather cool day yesterday with a max of 10.7, just 0.5 degrees warmer than the May record of 10.2 set in 1987. Felt a lot colder though with the wind chill. Temp dropped to 3.8 at around 9:00 pm & then climbed back up to 7.6 at 10:30 pm. Thought there would have been a frost this morning but the temp only got down to 4.1 overnight.
Hasn`t climbed much since, sitting on 8.4 at 10:00 am with a SSW breeze at 5 knots. Could be worse, only 0.3 on top of Mt Kaputar (1510 m ASL) 40 km to the west.
12.7 mm of rain over Thursday & Friday bringing the year total to 415 mm.
Yesterdays roller coaster temps. (PWS reads 0.3 degrees +/- off official BOM instruments)Edited by user Saturday, 23 May 2020 10:28:25 AM(UTC)

Remarkably, we've had continual rain on an off since early yesterday evening. Quite an event, we haven't had this kind of rain for years. Can't even remember back that far...

Yikes, that's a bit nippy. We had a cold snap in FNQ late May, but it's back to manageable warm-cold again. Lol.
