Yup its pretty predictable down here at the moment 28.. Townsville radar is working again..  It must be painful for the 9-5 people..Weatherzone always throws the bone of impending better weather at the weekend only for it too dissapear when the weekend rolls in....its a cruel joke but we should know better at this time of year..

Hi folks , Another 22mm up here this morning after 30mm yesterday so that's 100mm in 3 days
yes it's all wet and sloppy, and the wind is cold. Been having a fire each night to keep
things a bit dry and take the edge off the chill.
Daughter lives in Canberra and laughs at us with a fire going at 23° :)

71 mm in the last couple of days including quite a heavy downpour early evening last night which had the drains running red... Very wet underfoot and still showering lightly now...frigging miserable conditions to be honest... We were going to try and get out to chase a mackie on Wednesday or Thursday but now we are supposed to have a wwoofer couple arrive tomorrow and it probably wouldnt be a great introduction for them for boating on the GBR if they spend the day chucking up in 15 knots of slop... Meanwhile one fella dead and another 2 rescued after a boat capsized near Batt reef up Bunyips way last night... Edited by user Monday, 12 June 2023 11:44:03 AM(UTC)

41mm in White Rock so far this month. Not as much as the wetter places on the Cassowary and Daintree coasts but still keeping the place green.

Bloody hell..its showering here again tonight after a couple of decent days... Went out in pretty nice condtions and caught a few spotty and doggy macks today.. Stopped on The Spit at Dunk island for a picnic on the way home as well... Sorry for the sideways pic..

The Americans have called El Nino is back. Could be a bit of unpredictable weather on the way.
Nice photo Scott. Haven't been to Dunk Island in years but it still looks beautiful. Never fished that area though.

Yeah fresh its alright bait Ron....bit soft though..much prefer mack tuna or a slab of hussar or now that Spanish has a limit of 2, I daresay any extras will be slabbed for bait.... We have 2 main uses for it....one is we have 1 medium and 2 large dogs so skins and bloodlines get fried up on catch days and the fillets that arent skinned are portioned and frozen for them...we have a seperate freezer just for this purpose..its really good for them and helps with skin allegies as well... I'm not a huge fan of them eaten fresh if we have other reef fish available but we also smoke up a bunch of them and freeze it.. smoked mackie pasta is not bad but our favorite by far is Fish cakes with our boiled mashed taro, perrenial coriander,some parsley,bit of chilli, some fried capsicum, onion and garlic,salt and pepper..mix it all up in a bowl and leave overnight..make into pattie's, bit of flour each side and shallow fry..can add breadcrumbs, even fresh geen beans if you have them, into the mix for variation..... we often do up a big batch and freeze them on layers of greaseproof paper and we can just pull out what we need for a meal or snack... Try it before you knock it Ron.. BTW mate..its that time of year again..No doubt I'll see you there...   28 looks like some rain event is expected though the Kimberlies and moving across ..I guess we wait and see what eventuates for us...hopefully not much .. Sheridon mist, yeah the islands off here are pretty nice and Dunk is now owned by that Cannon-Brooks millionaire fella and his wife wants to do some sort of eco-resort type thing over there after a bunch of proposals from a long list of shysters made many broken promises....the good thing now is there is a little beach bar near the spit and campgrounds which there hasnt been since the last one got blown away in Yasi...
