453mm for novemeber at my place, looks like i might have even beat the bunyip on the mighty daintree for the first time for a monthly total i will take that. More heavy rain falling today with these storms around, might be a wet decemeber i reckon.

Nice storms yesterday arvo, not smashing just nice gave 53mm this morning and a few showers continue for now.

Not sure we will see the big falls predicted earlier in the week, but it's nice all the same.

Yes 28 it looks to have finished with nothing showing on the charts for the next week or so...awesome for you to get some good falls though...I'm sure the weeds most appreciate it..lol..

It was patchy down this way with us getting just over 100mm for the event, some nearby places double that..

Neighbor measured 150mm for the month with 5 out of the past 6 months being sub-200mm....its been a true dry season for us..not like the lush green daintree thats for sure...

Just over 50mm in G'vale for Nov, been just missing a lot of these heavy localised showers, eg Cairns racecourse got 78.8mm in a downpour early yesterday arvo, we got zilcho.

Woo hoo. 28mm.

Amazing electrical storm just after 7pm, for about an hour. Best I've seen since I've lived here. 12 years. Then another crackling cell rolled through about 2.30am.

Not seen this much early rain since my first year here 2010.

Power went out for 15-20 minutes.

I recently discovered a large huntsman behind a photo frame. I've never seen him otherwise.

After the storm, I was reading in the living room. He came running out along the top of the wall, then onto the ceiling. He was fast, and seemed erratic. He was darting back & forward, waving his legs around. He seemed distressed? They're usually slow & patient aren't they?

LOL, neither am I. But out of sight out of mind. If I can't see them they don't exist.

That storm was pretty windy, but no damage. Didn't even blow the lid off the compost bin.

But - the rest of town had leaves and branches, and big branches blown off. A few trees snapped in half, and a few blown over and uprooted. The creek was a yellowy brown and up considerably. Interesting all round.

Was that Thursday Bunyip? Not a thing near us on radar, but noticed the odd flash to the northeast over the Featherbeds.

Coming home today, as I left Mareeba it absolutely dumped, all the way out to Arriga. Slow driving. Of course the rest of the drive was on bright sunshine.

Maybe this season I might have to finally replace my windscreen wipers. Haven't really needed them enough the last few years.

So am I. But I'm quite happy we've had so much rain already, before Christmas.

Nights are beautiful here at the moment. Evenings are gorgeous, but the March flies are out in droves.
