Thought I`d kick off a thread about Sunrise/Sunset Photos. This one taken back in March 2012 would have to be one of my favorites. It was taken from the summit of Mt Kaputar, just to the east of Narrabri, NSW. The summit is at 1510 meters ASL & overlooks the plains to the west, some 1200 meters below. Mt Kaputar is a remnant of a shield volcano that became extinct around 22 million years ago. Edited by user Wednesday, 4 September 2019 8:45:37 AM(UTC)

Nothing as stunning as Ambient or Eddie's, however it is nice to see the Glass House mountains again after a few days of smoke and yesterday's dust. Edited by user Sunday, 8 September 2019 5:55:55 PM(UTC)

Just on a side note - the Glass House mountains are the older "brother" of Mt Kaputar, formed as they passed over same hotspot around 5 million years earlier. Similar to the way the Hawaiian Island chain are being formed today. Edited by user Monday, 9 September 2019 10:00:50 AM(UTC)
