Probably should of started this on the 1st of May, but here we are.
The rain we are getting the last few days is not really Wet Season stuff so lets put it in here.
Friday 2nd 14mm
Sat 3rd 31mm
Sun 4th 32mm
Mon 5th 69mm
146mm over the 4 days..

63mm more the past few days and about 170mm over the 5 days.. Check out those closely spaced isobars stacked up on the east coast in the next week... From that it looks like plenty more of the same filthy windy, showery weather ahead...

05:50 and just back from my walk with the dog and it's still and if you didn't

Local council have released plans to upgrade the area where the ferry lands with new lanes and ticket boxes ect ect but it looks like we will lose a lot of boat trailer parking, idiots don't take into account that when the weather plays nice there can be up to 75 cars & trailers there as well as all the tourist traffic going on boat rides ect.. Went through this with the then council about 10 years back & was taking photos and counting cars and sending to the then mayor everyday till they woke up and changed plans, haven't got the patience to deal with them all over again. 11mm here 2 mornings in a row.. another 69mm over the past 4 days up till tonight... Managed to get a pistol match at Kurrimine in this morning in the light showery rain and gusty wind...lots of staples needed to keep the targets on the corflutes but everyone soldiered on.. Bunyip it sounds like our Clump point ramp ..if you get there late on a good weather weekend then you just about have to call a taxi to get from the ramp to where you need to park the trailer half a mile away..I guess because they are often empty during foul weather the muppets dont get how important for the community the need for parks is when the weather comes good.. 12.5mm here this morning, that's 27.5 for the last 4 days. It shows April was quite dry now that May has already beaten that total. Deeral landing in good weather is like that as well, if you arrive late it's a long walk back to the ramp from where you parked the trailer. Apr: 80.5mm May: 85.5mm YTD: 2230.5mm Edit: The walk to pick up the trailer seems even longer after a long overnight reef trip. Edited by user Sunday, 11 May 2025 7:56:56 PM(UTC)

10 wet days straight now with a further 54mm overnight...enough already please...the ground has become super soggy.. SM.. that deeral ramp probably gets a lot of cairns folk use it as well which probably annoys the Deeral locals that live there specifically because of proximity to the ramp..we know some people that have a shack down at Russell heads and when the weather is good they take their family and boats and spend some time based down there...I'm a bit envious of their setup but they have worked damn hard to acheive it.......

37.5mm here in the last 5 days. A bit of drizzle around again today. The May total is sitting on about average at the moment.
Deeral is a great spot to launch the boat Scott. Great scenery on the run down the river to the Heads, then go past the Frankland Islands on the way out to the reef. Some beautiful reefs out that way, good fishing at times.
