Just looking at the Himawari satellite image from this afternoon. iIt is interesting watching the storms explode near the border in the last couple of hours. The Infrared and Zehr highlights the cold uppers which will support hail. The take away from the images show strong winds, lots of moisture and hail is present so please stay alert as we should expect further warnings for Heavy Rain that could lead to flash flooding, large hail and strong winds. Stay safe out there. Highlighted the storms as they are really ramping up. Zehr showing the cold uppers Below is the Doppler and you can see those winds getting stronger as the storms build and move into a storm friendly environment. |

The 1st small cell of the day. It managed to shoot out a couple of shots of lightning, but what I find interesting is how the early small ones perform. It gives you are small glimpse into the atmosphere. It may struggle and die off or it may find a nice flow and build. Right now it is struggling a little, but worth just keeping an eye on this area early this afternoon, technically from now on. Today has the potential to explode into a fairly big storm day where all the elements of a severe storm could be present. Strong winds, Heavy rain leading to flash flooding and Hail. So please stay vigilant and safe, Keep an eye out for warnings. These storms have the potential to drop some heavy rain very quickly so just watch your surroundings. |

The latest storm warnings and radar sweep. This is the water vapour loop. The second image is a quick summary of what is happening in the loop. Over in the Kimberly’s there is a low that could develop into a tropical low and one to keep an eye on. This is due to the increased water temperatures around the North of Australia. This low is feeding moisture right across WA and into Queensland. Also a trough down South is pushing moisture into the South East of the Country mainly over NE NSW and Southern Queensland. The Red area seen on the map is dry air that is helping to push the moisture to the East. So what this means is the storms we see on the radar will probably build into a shower/rain band late this afternoon/ evening and stick around until Sunday afternoon once that dry air reaches us. We could see some good totals and also the threat is still present of flash flooding at this point in time. Stay safe and alert. Edited by user Saturday, 15 November 2025 3:47:42 PM(UTC)

An intense storm system tore through Walgett and Narrabri this afternoon. Walgett clocked sustained winds for 5 minutes at 109 km/h while Narrabri endured 12 minutes of strong winds from 70 -82 km/h. In South East Queensland Dalby recorded a wind gust of 52km/h, Oakey a gust of 54km/h and Warwick a gust of 56km/h. Very mild in comparison. Would have been a wild ride in the that little Northern pocket of NE NSW. Edited by user Saturday, 15 November 2025 4:53:25 PM(UTC)

BoM have issued minor flood warnings for the Bremer River and Warrill Creek. Also for the Albert and Logan River. If you are out and about today just be careful when using the road due to possible flooded causeways etc. Below is the 1 st section of each of the Rivers warnings. Please visit BoM for the full warnings. More rain and storms are likely again today, Sunday, so these heights may rise again and more flood warnings issued in different places if required .
