G'day Folks :)
I only got 83mm night before last, there was a distinct line on the radar at one point and we were just on the northern edge. Mossman and area really got it. Scott the Rex Ck intake is up behind the gorge , where Mossman's water is taken, that pipe the runs beside the road as you head up to the gorge comes from there.
A fairly nice arvo yesterday, then as night fell it got damp and rain came early this morning and has left 25mm in the gauge this morning. Seems to have set in now. Been and filled all my jerry cans.
Now I'm off to the dentist again..
Higgins was a grader driver out on the southern downs when he started chasing a few storms. He put his family in a dangerous situation and his misses left him. He went harder and started the subscription stuff and it just grew.. He is a dead set F&$@ wit .. Love that parody acc. and Brisbane weather is run by a real meteorologist and I would listen to what he has to say over hollywood any day.
Looks like we could get a bit wet here and maybe a bit of a blow but nothing to serious.
Cheers

Bloody dentist referred me to one in Cairns, as he didn't want to pull it. :(
Well just 38mm in the gauge this morning, I recon tomorrow might be a bit better :) :)
That track has not changed much in the latest one.. Now it's just the waiting.
Cheers

Make sure you get a quote from the dentist Bunyip, my missus just got some work done from a referred dentist and it cost an absolute bloody fortune.
Meanwhile, as per usual the crossing point for the low/cyclone gets further and further south as each track map gets published.

10.5mm here this morning. The radar is starting to look more promising so hopefully a bit more rain on the way. I see the cyclone advise has been cancelled now.

Eased off to just rain in the last half hour or so so made the most of it and took the dog for her run and locked up the neighbours chooks. (soaked chooks look bad ) 170mm today and counting in bout 12hrs
Bloomfield is flooding nicely up over the bridge on the cameras as are all the Cooktown rivers & creeks.
So far not much wind, but I can tell you the breezes that do come through are very cool after all this heat :) Must be getting soft :) No trees down locally yet, but something will fall soon enough.
Cheers

It's become gusty here with light steady rain, only 4mm so far today. That's good rain in your area Bunyip. They're saying most of the rain will be north of the centre with this one, something different.
White Rock forecast at the moment is 10-100mm for today and 15-100mm for tomorrow. That shows a bit of uncertainty by the BOM I think.

Been trying to make sense of the radar atm, I really have no idea where the low actually is, most of rain seems to be out at Lihou reef. Not a breath of wind here, am I in the “eye” of the low?

Well I've had an interesting morning :) haha
Ended up with another 125mm so the 24hr total was 295mm
AS you probably know the ferry was washed away last night, this was caused by tour boats being tied up to the public wharf upstream of the ferry, when the wharf with 3 boats tied to it broke off the bank it went downstream straight into the ferry, all the added weight then caused the ferry to break it's moorings. So we could be a few days without a ferry service. Build the bridge..
My day started as most do, take the dog for a run around 05:30 only this morning as I went to turn around I lost all steering in my Jimny, A quick look and I see it has dropped a tie rod end. Got the mrs to come and pick us up and had a look in my cupboard and luckily I had a set of new ones here. So I spent the next 2 hours laying in 150mm of water changing over steering components, and I'm back on the road. Will need to go to a mates place with a hoist and do a wheel alignment and check a few other bits. Always something at the most inconvenient time :) haha
Looking at the radar now it looks like that's about it.. Sure was a quick event, but it''s going to take some time for all of it to be made right again. The best part is we still have power :)
Cheers
