Once there's the big highs sitting over the country, there's no way we get any rain.

We had a couple good months, but a third month would've been good.

The creek is flowing, but I think it will dry up again before the next wet.

Yes Bunyip, it often rains at Easter, it could still happen. It's also been known to rain on wheelbarrow race contestants at Almaden in May.

Chillagoe is looking good, but fading fast. Green, but not the vivid green it was when we had daily rain.

Humidity is down in the 40s. Laundry dries quickly again.

I haven't been past Ferguson crossing. It's April already, we've been promised, yet again, that the Chillagoe section & the middle section will be sealed this year... Apparently there is now no money for the Almaden section, plus the Ootan turnoff has to be realigned. Sigh...

Notice TC Seroja up southwest of Timor. Looks headed back towards the coast around Learmonth. The TC a bit further west looks like it could come in to the coast as well. I thought Queensland was supposed to be wetter than WA. Not since I've been here. (ex Sydney-ite years ago.)

This fella owns a place here but lives in Germany. Most years he comes out at least once
for 6 weeks, Normally I do no more than drop in every week or so and make sure all is good
and check cameras ect, but with this bat flu who knows when he will be able to come out again.
So I'm just doing a bit here and there to combat the jungle, run his vehicle and trap a few
rats. Will set a cat trap there this week as I could smell cat piss very strong around the front
verandah area yesterday.

It's still quite warm out here too. Nothing like it sounds for you Dormant.

We have a lot of absentee owners in Chillagoe too. Convenient for them. Except for those with bores, everyone lets their yards go brown between the rain. Even when it rains and you can see the grass growing, you can still stretch it to 3 week mows.

EDIT: Late afternoon now. We had about 4mm of rain at 4pm from part of those scattered showers. Nice.

The night time temps have certainly become more comfortable for sleeping...

Some of the forecasts are showing significant daily rain for the next week or so for us..

I hope its just a last wet season gasp and not a lead in to that horrible autumn/winter rain that just drags on till mid year....

Worthless forecast, for sure. 42mm here since 09:00h.

Rained all night, and still coming down. BoM was a long way off the mark with yesterdays forecast.

What a joke. Looks like about 115mm in the gauge here since 09:00h,- - Gordonvale up to 155mm, and about 220mm for Innisfail aero.

Might be a couple of days of this. Good snoozing weather.
