Well only 49mm here this morning :( Most of the real good stuff was south of me.
Mossman and Port have got double or better, The road was closed yesterday arvo for awhile
but the mrs got through ok..
Gone troppo Did you get told the road was closing or just watching? Mrs works at hospital and nobody said anything.
Weary ? not sure why you would want RATs, if you get it you will know, All this BS testing all the time does nothing
Only time you need to be tested is when arrive at hospital with breathing problems.
This whole thing has been the most poorly managed event in history, We need a huge purge of all politicians
and a new lot of leaders.

bunyip not too often i beat you for rain 109.25mm for me. Areas around port are well over 200mm. Nah i was watching the flood cameras and knew it was going to go over so made the call to go home and it was the right call as it went over for a while although lucky for everyone else the rain eased off or a lot more would have got stuck. |

Yeah OK, I'll have to keep a lookout for the Mrs when she is at work.
Just had a good storm that dumped about 60mm in half an hour, was good to see where
the water runs on this block, and dig out a drain or 2 in the heavy stuff.

93mm this morning :) Very gray and still.
The dunny one shows the water in the carpark coming up, it helps if your familiar with the carpark.
But overall they don't clearly show the situation that causes the problems.
Ok what's next ?

94mm here some places around Mossman got way more. I left work early again made the right call just on time. Foxton was just lapping at the road.
I watch the camera at anichs upstream from foxton when anichs goes over by a certain amount it’s time to get out. They only update the photos every 30mins so by the time people wait for the foxton images it’s too late. There is too much lag. I would keep an eye on the anichs camera when anichs goes over be alert if it is continuing to rain heavy. |

Barely 2mm some time yesterday. Hot morning. There actually is a bit of precipitation as I tap this out. Who know how long it will last. Edit: exTC Tiffany makes a pretty picture on BOM national radar. Edit 2: Precipitation turned serious. Might be 20+mm. Bit of decent lightning and some very loud cracks. Woo hoooo. It's great to get such big falls, so often. Most over the years would be 4mm-18mm, maybe 25mm, type numbers.

27mm here brings my total to 305mm for the month so far. Ultra heavy weights babinda have weighed in for 2021 with a massive 4852mm however they still fall short of Tully sugar mill with 5082mm. The only other ultra heavy weights that can possibly take the title of tully is Cape tribulation who still haven't uploaded the last few months of 2021. Any of you hear / feel the sonic boom from the Tonga volcano?
I was over at a mates place on the hill and we looked at the radar page and said seems
like the storms were a bit small and to far away, was like distant thunder at first
them a big boom and it actually felt like it was an explosion and not just thunder.
What is next ?

Bunyip, that interesting. I'm wondering if hearing volcanoes is like hearing earthquakes. A friend's mum in New Guinea in 1970 used to hear them, we never did. I started hearing them in Darwin in early 1990s. Yeah mate..missus thought it was thunder at first..but it sounded different to me later on too Bunyip... .definately more like an explosion.... The last time I heard something similar was when I was flying through the air after pouring 20 litres of stale unleaded fuel onto a wood pile and lighting it... A very similar sound indeed...

Yeah some amazing images coming from space these days. Unreal to think you can watch these events almost live.
I know that sound Scott, neighbor did something similar and the next noise was the chopper landing on the road.
But yes the pressure wave felt just like an explosion, unreal that it traveled 3700km. I saw a graph of the MSLP
and the spike was around 7mb ...
Great red glow before the sunrise this morning with all the ash..
