26mm here 58mm for the 2 days previous. 10 day charts show a stationary high down south for at least the next 2 weeks giving us continued cr@p conditions.. The ground is beyond saturated and even pushing a barrow around is nigh on impossible... The dogs even smell musty and mouldy with our youngest, American bulldog Dexter, having a difficult time with skin allergies and funky feet..he is currently on antibiotics and regular bathing...poor guy is even more miserable then us  I reckon if i had a pot belly stove I'd be impossible to dislodge off the couch Bunyip...similar if we had air-con in the summer..

Oh poor pooch
Got to get up and get wood lol
Yeah no barrow pushing here either. can only walk in the same place twice or start to sink.
Still getting showers every few hours, and keep falling for the feeling of oh the sun is out
lets go and do something only to be disappointed when the next shower blows in.

Poor Dexter. There's no way to escape either and give him a break. We've had the odd few seconds of "trying to rain" a couple days running earlier in the week. Just had two days in Cairns. I appreciated the rain for myself, but can understand you all must be pretty fed up with it - at this time of year. Edit: typo Edited by user Friday, 3 May 2024 9:47:38 PM(UTC)

Nothing in the gauge this morning after a pretty nice mostly sunny day yesterday.. Shower activity supposed to pick up for my area again tomorrow.. Might take Dexter up for a dip this arvo...the cool water seems to soothe his skin a bit and the antibiotics and anti-histamines also have taken the sting out and he is not so red and swollen today..we hate seeing him miserable and he really loves being a jungle dog and he thinks he is pretty cool scampering up and down the rocks up the waterfall area...but this [censored]weather is not great for him at all....damn its not that great for us humans either... I think Dexter would do much better out in the west near 28's place with less rain and humidity...we might have to send him out for some R@R, 28..?.. I'd almost suggest a swap. I'm possibly relocating, the dry weather doesn't agree with me...🫤 This time of year it's beautiful. Easy temperatures, comfortable cool nights. Direct sun is enjoyable. Not too much wind yet. Everything is still green, and no dust around so far.

Couple of nice days here with no rain. Looks like the 1-5mm days are on their way back.
We have a little female Maltese dog as a guest at the moment. She's had a bit of surgery lately. All the medication seems to have given her a lumpy rash all over. A wash in anti-bacterial shampoo twice a week seems to be helping her.

Only 3mm this morning :)
Dragged a few logs home yesterday, and have cut them and started to move them for new
garden beds. And have been and done a couple of trailer loads of gravel, I'm filling
the potholes in our council road as they are not going to do it any time soon and their
gravel is in a stock pile on our road. A bit of each load may find it's way into a few
holes in my driveway as well :lol:
Not keen on more wet days, but it is what it is.

yep back to the usual showery cr@p again...
Just had a couple of lovely days here to spoil us ..even got some fungicide sprayed in the shadehouse and a small amount of mowing done....ground is very sloppy though..
I have a couple of hundred metres of council roadway to maintain as well...no near-by gravel stocks to plunder though..that would be very nice indeed.!
Its not a well formed up or drained road so I usually drag a bit of gravel out of the creek occasionally and fill up the wash outs and holes and then just throw a bit of blue metal on top..
28 its urprising how much inland real estate is worth these days, even with rising interest rates...i guess its due to supply and demand and the actual cost of building a house these days...only downside is if you then need to find something to buy on the coast that has also risen proportionally these past few years..i read something like around 30% in the past 3-4 years across QLD...

Zero precipitation. Cool mornings 21-22degrees. Puffy white clouds tearing across the sky at high speed earlier this morning. Now overcast and very breezy. Feels like rain, ha ha. Occasionally we get a momentary light sprinkle, momentary, nothing in the gauge. Good day for getting stuff done.

Another 16mm this morning got things nice and wet again :(
and showers have continued.
Scott: My Scout has a bit of trouble with feet and under belly in the wet, keeping her out of the humidicola grass helps.
The other thing we do is wash her feet in vinegar & water mix when she comes home from a run, seems to stop the itch.
Where are you looking to move to 28?

21mm here this morning, takes me over 3800mm YTD ...
I'll have to sit down and play with my spread sheet and see if I can do first 4 month totals for past seasons.
A bit of travel sounds good 28, Been 13 years since I went walkabout down south for a bit of a look around
and visit some old stomping grounds, a bit long really..
Mareeba, yeah I can see the appeal, better climate than down here, still dry but not outback dry & handy
to any services you may need.. Hope you can find a nice place.

42mm here over the past couple of days.. Yeah no real actual "travel" for us either for over 25 years back when we camped our way along the coast from Coffs harbour to Port Douglas while we looked for a place to settle at... obviously Mission beach was our pick but later we moved 20kms west to our current location in the El Arish range as the beachside suburbs became more hijacked by pesky greenies and city folk..its nice to be close to the beach but far enough out of small town politics.. We did plenty of travel when younger and these days I'm more of a homebody and like to slep in my bed each night. The missus like Maggie island as a possible retirement spot but i have noticed the house prices have risen sharply since covid began and nothing housewise really under 500K now even older fibro or block places..less wind and rain sounds appealing but living in a place that turns brown every dry season might be hard to get used to.. Bunyip we do vinegar rubdowns as well as shampoos and lotions but just cant get on top of his issues for any length of time so its off to the vet for Dexter this arvo... I saw this forecast for no real change for the month ahead so I guess we better get used to more of this wet cr@p for a while longer....

Think the last trip I'd done was in 2014, but then I flew and trained it to Warrnambool beginning of 2020 to pick up a car and drive it back. No rego, but a 28 day permit, only got stopped twice. Excellent trip, caught up with friends and family, but not long enough.
