As for mowing, I've been doing ours about every 4 to 5 days lately as a week is just too long.

Have had to mow every week since Christmas Blink Not complaining though. Seems every time I mow it rains again. Mowed yesterday - 28 mm overnight.Glare

Tropical Cyclone Outlook for Coral Sea
Issued at 2:30 pm EST on Monday 9 March 2020
for the period until midnight EST Thursday 12 March 2020.

Existing Cyclones in the Eastern Region:
Nil.

Potential Cyclones:

There currently are no significant tropical lows in the Coral Sea. Tropical activity is expected to increase this week, with a tropical low developing in the northern Coral Sea as early as Wednesday. This low is expected to develop further, with an increasing chance of forming into a tropical cyclone late in the week.

At this stage, the system is most likely to move to the southeast while remaining off of the Queensland coast.


Likelihood of a tropical cyclone in the Eastern Region on:
Tuesday:Very low
Wednesday:Very low
Thursday:Moderate

At last -- maybe something to talk about, before the season is over! Fingers crossed.
The monsoon trough is back, but not holding my breath.
Just got an early warning network flood warning. All of the Cape and down to Mackay.

My panic buying is still left over from last year, or was it the year before.

I asked them to stop sending me those Early Warning Network alerts about two years ago.

Sure,- it's all well and good to err on the side of caution, but they just got ridiculous after a while.
I figure that if anything is brewing that's worth sitting up and taking notice of, I'll be very well aware of it without an EWN notification.

Probably time I deleted my subscription. Being right on the corner of 3 weather regions. Most of the time the weather doesn't reach us.

YS but that's forecasting that soon as it crosses the cape as a Low, more or less along the Monsoon trough, it will quickly form a cyclone which will scoot off SE into the ocean..so whats the worst that we will see....plenty of rain, some flooding and maybe some squally storms..then back to normal over the weekend unless anything changes ....no reason to empty supermarket shelves is there...?

I'd like a nice drenching to finally flush out the creeks and make them swimmable again..

Light drizzle through the evening, til somewhere around midnight.

Brought 8mm.

Drove to Cairns this morning. Mud on the car, consequently mud on my jeans.... After all these years I still forget to not lean on the car. No rain til the Kuranda Range. Lovely misty morning, nice to have seen it.

Yeah, it looks like s few days of wet, then it is fine again for the weekend.
Our smaller creeks are flowing again , but only just.

When you see some of the headline like "Townsville in Target zone"..... it doesn't take much to get people on a "roll" for panic buying....Scared Woot

As usual, not much rain out here. Barely 1mm between 6am and 5pm.
No rain as I drove to Cairns this morning, no rain on the way back, til some light drizzle starting about 20km east of Almaden, all the way home.
