Good morning weather watchers :)
Well only 35mm up here this morning :(
Yeah Hic & 28, not looking good for us with this system taking our rain away and leaving us with more of the same next week.
This MJO pulse is deteriorating and passing us by, so will we get an April flush too finish the season?

What an absolute dud of a wet season..
No creek flush out ..not even muddy water..
and the 10 day forecast shows absolutely nothing...

Well been a few good showers here today but nothing special.
I'm not seeing much in the way of anything spinning to our north yet :( Now saying late Friday.

Just a short light shower some time this morning, gave us another 2mm. Looking at all the predictions of nothing for us, makes me long for the days before us plebs had technology at our finger tips, and we could still *hope* for rain.

If I didn't know better when looking at the 10 day synoptic charts I would think that it was winter time....so much influence in the coming week from the highs moving across the south of the continent and bringing the inevitable SE winds...its going to be a horrible week ahead... BTW I thought I'd better add my staffy to my avatar..I was getting a bit creeped out by Bunyips hound always staring at me...  anyway gotta go...I think I'm getting a sore throat...cough ..cough... Staffys are pretty cool dogs, But I love my Vizsla "Scout" She's not creepy at all mate.
They call them velcro dogs , because they want to be with you all the time.
Had the same thought about the week ahead, then get up this morning to fog on the flats and a cooler feel in the air, sure feels like dry season.

Currently 18° on the deck, and 23° inside. Definitely into the dry season.

Had to grab a blanket in the early hours of Sat morning. Such a change in one week. I think the hot, humid stuff is now behind us, and we're going into autumn patterns. At this stage,- so much for the wet that wasn't. I hope there is still some more to come.

I put an extra blanket on too in the very early hours of the morning. Time to get out the doona.
Yesterday it was 23° outside.
This morning it was 18°.
Perfect weather in Chillagoe right now.

Much unlike our staffies who only raise their heads off the couch to see if there is the possibility of food, swimming or going for a walk/run/drive...if none of the above they gently lay their heads back down and resume the position... According to the tropical climate note, it looks like it is dry conditions ahead (after this lot of rain that is  ) For northern Australia and much of the southern Maritime Continent, an MJO pulse over Africa or the tropical western Indian Ocean at this time of the year is typically associated with below-average rainfall. These expected drier-than-average conditions are apparent in the Bureau's latest climate outlook, which shows a pronounced dry signal over northern Australia for the fortnight of 21 March to 3 April. http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/tropical-note/

It's weird how the nights have cooled off since about last Fri. Nigh time temps aren't down that much,- but it just feels heaps cooler. Daytime temps are about the same,- but it's mid Mar and I haven't got even one ceiling fan going, day or night. Just using a blanket ATM, but the doona will soon be removed from the summer time storage bag, I'm thinking. A strange wet this year.
