He / she's gotta be in for a serious bout of RSI with all that typing,- and yeah, probably retired and not much else to do.

I'm retired, but not that keen.

A mate of mine is in the the yellow shirt in one of the pics in this story....

He also spent a while up there sawing and keeping the track open a couple of years back..

For anyone knowing this road its hard to imagine anyone driving up with the conditions of a few days ago...

G'day all, from just north of Mareeba. Was hearing a bit of a rumble out your way before 28degrees. Are you copping more? Just looking at the photos you sent, certainly looking lush. We've been missing out up until the new year I guess, 270 mls so far (more than the last four months last year). Wow scott123, they would still be waiting for help if not for the front end loader. Certainly a lot of downed scrub and banks to sort out!

And I thought it was all over, gone south, but no, last few hours has been rather heavy stormage.
Thankfully enough of a break yesterday partner misted for mossies while I managed a weed spray. Grass sure was jumping but the rideon has been keeping on top of it though the catcher on the other JD clogs too easily to pick up wet stuff.

We managed a shopping trip to Cairns thursday before the dingalings start clearing shelves and missed all the bits hanging off the hills on the way home. So home dry and restocked.

Well we are only 9 days into the month and i have already passed my jan average, and it does not look like it is going to stop any time soon.

Well, that was a handy 96mm starting around 6am. I was thinking the southeasterly flow was re-etablishing and on comes a blob... and sits, and sits, but now it's a bit off the coast and who knows where it'll go. Looking at Nullschool I see this area is full of random wind movements which explains a lot.

Yes I was watching that blob on the radar this morning too Dormant, it was only a few k's north of us and just wouldn't move that little bit south for us! Nothing here in the last 24 hrs and only 20 mm from the edge of that storm out your way on Friday night 28.

Just looking at my stats for January here Yasi (I only go back to 2012), and we're about 100 mm behind our January average already. Which seems odd as it hasn't seemed to be that wet yet this month. I suppose every wet day adds up!

Just noticing things starting to bubble up a bit on the radar out west, so best get another few hours on the mower before what ever may eventuate this arvo!
