BOM giving Pottsville which is 30km south of Coolangatta. Between 30 to 100mm in the next 7 days.
The synoptic later in this time frame suggesting a big dip in isobars in east quadrant of Oz. Which could flow on to the coast.
The further threat of a tropical low developing in the northern Coral sea
We could be in for a wet couple of weeks?

BOM rainfall charts are indicating the coastal border of Qld/Nsw could get 100mm for this event from surface and upper troughing. In fact this event extends from the far north down through to Tasmania. This interesting report also suggests the atmosphere is primed for storms Also article also shows the expected rain for all regions . Yesterday 50mm coolongatta Lismore 140mm Casino 120mm Our tent is surviving the intermittent torrential downpours. Bought some spray water repellant for added security. No wet bedding for me thanks The dew point has been hovering around 21.5 deg c for a few days. Not overflowing at Chinderah yet but river is town and the usual forest rubbish floating down. Dodged a bullet for sure.

It sure is an event, pity that not more people use this forum to share their stories.
I've read of people on roofs again around Grantham , undeliverable that they would wait that long again.
And Gympie going hard on getting to '99 levels again..

Mt Glorious NW of Brisbane has received 1200mm in 8 days Wivenhoe Dam (95% capacity) water release causing some flooding downstream. This ABC report has lots of pictures and documentation of what’s happening. https://www.abc.net.au/n...g-bom-warnings/100862460Coolongatta forecast is for 50-150mm tomorrow. However l will say we didn’t get the 100mm forecast yesterday. It was all well north of us. Event should be over by Monday This event is what one might expect with a cyclone transitioning. This has been caused by stalling strong sub tropical troughing over the affected areas.

200 mm at Brisbane , 130 mm at the tweed 2 days ago. Yesterday and overnight we got thumped. Received an sms this morning to move to higher ground as the tweed is rising quickly approaching major flood Get this ‘guys’. Evans head 428mm at 7.30am this morning🤪 232mm Casino big numbers across Nth rivers http://www.bom.gov.au/ns...bservations/nswall.shtmlWe have left caravan park which has some flooding as drains can’t drain water away Evacuation point here is Kingscliff TAFE Flooding over road about a foot deep adjacent to flooded footy oval makes getting to Kingcliff dodgy in a sedan. Currently still pelting down here Geez just looked at obs on the radar Brisbane another 200mm At Tweed we are up to 202mm at 7.30mm!!🤪🤪 Radar says more coming. Ballina is cut off in both north and south of M1
South Ballina underwater with roof drop rescues being televised on TV now
Trucks stranded on M1 for much longer than 24 hrs
High tide this morning closed most roads in the CBD
Currently flooding is easing toward low tide
We may have another inundation at high tide this arvo’.
The Tweed river is dropping so hoping to get back to the border tomorrow.
Road is currently still closed at Chinderah which is near the mouth of the Tweed.
We are staying at Ballina at great expense but are dry and safe at higher ground
Road closed south bound of Ballina near Wardell and road closed north of Ballina at the border. So trucks and supplies not getting through.
Media says trucks are backed up kms waiting to get through

We have been without Eftpos and Telstra internet for a week now. Towers went down at Woodbury bear Ballina and Chinderah near the border.
We have returned from evacuation centre at Lennox head.
The caravan park and suburbs adjacent y to o the Tweed river were inundated 2 m Of water, above the second highest flood level of 1974.
Everyone inundated lost everything in the ground floor
Every street is full of thrown away domestic possessions as well as wood walls and flooring etc
We lost all our stuff in tent as well
